Note the framing errors on eth0 from ifconfig output. I believe this does indeed indicate that the BRAND NEW PoE kit we bought from Solwise for the job is faulty. It continues to relay power, but the ethernet across the 4 non-power wires is getting scrambled. Incidentally, this is the second piece of Solwise-own-brand kit that's proved crappy - the other being their Ethernet-over-Power devices. I've swapped the interfaces around, so the one that OSPF-peers with the rest of the network is NOT the one that uses the PoE. So, the unit will now function using the primary line for power and the secondary for ethernet.
