A while back on here there were some postings about a new, patented
technique / technology to enhance radio ranges without any significant
exotic hardware (it was a receiver technique iirc) - the folk involved
were I seem to remember in Florida... 

I've Googled, scoured archives and generally scratched about without any
success - anybody know of a likely candidate?
