creative agencies | designers | community groups | gamers | developers |
artists | theatre groups | musicians | performers

Pervasive Media Studio at 7:30 on Tuesday 15th July

igfest is a new street game festival in Bristol and we want you to create a
game to show off to the world. Come along to the iglab special at the
Pervasive Media Studio at 7:30 on Tuesday 15 July to find out more about
igfest, try out some street games, meet potential collaborators and find
your inspiration.

*
What are Street Games*

Freed from screens and boards, players of these games roam the streets
hungry for fun. One game may see you fleeing over Pero's bridge with a Pac
Man ghost on your tail, another has you playing snakes and ladders up and
down the stairs and slopes of Trenchard St car park. igfest will give you
licence to play and be playful and will be more fun than you can shake a
Wiimote at...

Street games are a growing international form often taking existing games
and re-purposing them to play as social, physical games. So Pac Man becomes
Pac
Manhattan <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgISo2OSy2U>, Snakes and Ladders
becomes Sneaks and Liggers <http://iglab.urbanantics.net/www/?p=68> .

We will be playing several games on the 15 July that have either become
iglab <http://iglab.urbanantics.net/www/> favorites or are one of our
favorites from this summers other international street games festivals Come
Out and Play <http://www.comeoutandplay.org/> (New York) and Hide and
Seek<http://www.hideandseekfest.co.uk/>(London)
.

What Is igfest?

igfest is the Bristol's own street games festival which, from the 19-21st of
September will turn public spaces into a public playgrounds.

igfest promises to bring the best local street games and the best
international games to Bristolians – young and old, geek and technophobe
alike. Played on a massive scale, across the city, in public spaces, these
event style games have endless possibilities. So what game would you like to
play?

How Can You Help Us?

We offer profile for your organisation or business, fun and creative
development. Taking part in igfest will be a great way to demonstrate
creativity and playfulness but more importantly perhaps it is an opportunity
to BE creative and playful.

Taking part in igfest will be a great way to demonstrate creativity and
playfulness but more importantly perhaps it is an opportunity to BE creative
and playful.

There are lots of ways to get involved. If you'd like to make game for the
festival but are unsure how to develop a street game, we can provide the
help you need. If you'd like to partner up with another company, we can help
make those connections. If you'd like to be involved but don't know how, we
are happy to find out together.

igfest is about demonstrating the strength of the creative community in
Bristol. We want you to be a part of that. Come along on the 15 July to find
out more.
